Andre Castenell, Jr. came to Giving Kitchen after over a decade in human services. Andre has spent the past eight years primarily focused on Atlanta's refugee community, ensuring self-sufficiency and sustainability for this vulnerable population through job placement, education and advocacy. His move to GK is a natural shift for Andre's professional talents as well as his culinary interests.
Originally from New Orleans, Andre has spent the last 25 years making Atlanta his home. When he's not making the world a better place for working people, Andre enjoys performing improv comedy at Dad's Garage and Dark Side of the Room, eating at new restaurants, and lounging as much as possible with his fiancé, Ciara, and their wild dingo dog, Smuckers.
